International doctors working in the UK in a permanent NHS or Private Hospital jobs will have to apply for a National Insurance number. Your national insurance number will make sure that your NI contributions and tax are properly recorded. To apply for national insurance please visit your local Jobcentre Plus in order to arrange an Evidence of Identify interviews or visit their website to request postal application. Once your interview and application have been successfully processed you will receive a National Insurance number as well as a Plastic National Insurance card. Your employer will require your NI number, so please apply within one week of starting your permanent job within a UK hospital! |
